It has a mixture of old and new architecture but has retained its air of tradition. The old men still meet at the end of the day near the square to chat, drink and watch the world go by. The next significant town up is Kathikas, which again has an impressive range of eateries, as well as the Sterna Winery. As Peyia is on the hillside a car is well advised.
